Punxsutawney Phil to be Honored
with Life-Size Bronze Statue on Groundhog Day

DeWitt, MI - (Thursday, December 04, 2008) - DENTCO®, the nation's leading Exterior Services Management® Company announced today they commissioned world renowned wildlife sculptor, Geoffrey Camp Smith (www.geoffreysmith.com) to create a life size bronze sculpture of Punxsutawney Phil. DENTCO has utilized Phil's winter weather predictions for over 30 years to supplement their logistical planning of snow and ice removal services.

DENTCO CEO Kevin Dent remarked, "A large part of our business is the management of snow and ice removal services for thousands of national retail stores, restaurants, hotels, financial institutions, telecommunications companies and other large business facilities. Each year, we eagerly await Phil's prediction and enjoy featuring him in our national winter newsletter. After more than 30 years of contributing top notch forecasting, we owe Phil a nice dedication."

Sculptor Geoffrey Smith has been working closely with DENTCO, Punxsutawney Inner Circle Member Mike Johnston and other members of the Inner Circle, who surround Phil as he makes his weather prediction at Gobbler's Knob on Groundhog Day. According to Smith, the sculpture of Phil was hand sculpted in clay and was recently sent to a foundry for casting. The final statue will stand around 19 inches tall with a plump belly of about 22 inches in diameter.

Johnston noted, "Each year we get dozens of requests from both large and small companies who want to work with us in promoting Phil on his special day. After working with DENTCO and Geoffrey Smith, we really feel that the sculpture will be a wonderful dedication to Groundhog Day 2009 and for years to come. After speaking with Phil's Handler, we hear that Phil is excited to see his special memorial."

The dedication ceremony is slated to take place in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:00 am in Barclay Square following Phil’s sunrise winter weather predication on Gobbler's Knob. The life-size sculpture will then be on permanent display at the Weather Discovery Center (www.weatherdiscovery.org), a nearby interactive science center in the heart of Punxsutawney.

In addition to the life-size sculpture, limited edition miniature bronze sculptures will be available for purchase after the dedication on Groundhog Day. If you would like to pre-order one or more of this one-of-a-kind Punxsutawney Phil collectible, please visit www.dentco.com/groundhogday.
